The Rohingya Genocide and The Myanmar Army

On 10th December 2019 while the Rohingya’s case would be on the doc in the International Court of Justice at Hague, the whole world would follow how the obligations of genocide conventions are complied. We feel that elements of crimes so far surfaced in Rakhain state shall prove the act of genocide and horrendous crimes against humanity conducted by the Myanmar government and their army.

In this context, those would try to challenge it or deny the acts of genocide should be charged for denial of genocide which itself is a grievous crime.

Countries who would stand beside Myanmar on this issue are to be charged also as accomplice of the prime perpetrator.

Today, the Burmese army shadowed and sheltered by Ms. Aung San Suu Kyi wiping out the age-old Arakani people, named as Rohingya from their homeland. This is a pre-planned operation to annihilate the total Rohingya population to establish so called Buddhist hegemony and secure economic benefit by creating easy access to economically benefit zone.

There are definite evidence of their crimes and there are overt signs and signatures of their long-term intentions, initiated from 1978, when they opted for military crack down on the innocent Rohingya population. Their acts displaced nearly 1.1 million Rohingya and some are victims of enforced deportation and disappearance.

They waged war against unarmed civilians branding them as rebel. They have conducted 4 counts of genocide, 9 counts of crimes against humanity & 12 counts of war crimes.

The Myanmar army and the Buddhist monks not only got engaged in worst act of genocide, they also got involved in such a perverted act of rape which the most deviated psychopath could design and conceive. From the very beginning, the Myanmar government not only swallowed the state of Arakan but also wiped out a race and citizens belonging to an independent state, which was silently annexed to the hegemonistic state of Myanmar.

Now, being backed by China they are trying to annihilate a race.

The prime perpetrators of all these crimes are definitely the top brass of Myanmar Army, and some Buddhist Monks. As head of Myanmar state Ms. Aung San Suu Kyi bears a lot of responsibility regarding all these crimes because of her overt and covert actions to conceal, camouflage the crimes and facilitate the horrendous acts of genocide and crimes against humanity by blatant denial.

The top brass of Myanmar Army, Ms. Aung San Suu Kyi and a few top monks of Myanmar must be tried in the court of Hague immediately- that is the opinion of War Crimes Facts Finding Committee, Bangladesh.

The countries and persons supporting and facilitating the crimes must be economically banned, boycotted and should be seriously warned by the International criminal court, Human Rights High Commissioner, the UN Chief and civilized world.
Burden of displaced person must be shared by all champions of human rights. The Bangladesh government has delivered the best humanitarian service, now the turn is for others.

They must be rehabilitated either in their own homeland or temporarily in other part of the world. At the end, they must have their right to return to their own homeland; that is their fundamental right.

As we can not foresee the immediate outcome of the trial, we feel the urgency about some punitive measures against Myanmar government. All military support and cooperation’s to Myanmar government must be stopped immediately. Travel ban should be immediately imposed against top brass of Myanmar army and alleged perpetrators of genocide in Myanmar. Their assets and wealth preserved in foreign banks must be confiscated and froze with immediate effect.

“The most serious crimes of concern to the international community, notably genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity, must not go unpunished and their effective prosecution must be ensured. The emergence of this principle as a norm under international law has changed the parameters for the pursuit of peace.

As a minimal application of this principle, amnesties must not be granted to those bearing the greatest responsibility for genocide, crimes against humanity and serious violations of international humanitarian law. Each State has the primary responsibility to protect its population from these crimes. This responsibility entails the prevention, investigation and prosecution of such crimes.”
