চ্যানেল আই অনলাইন (ওয়েবসাইট www.channelionline.com ও চ্যানেল আই মোবাইল অ্যাপ) প্রকাশ করে ইমপ্রেস টেলিফিল্ম লিমিটেড, দেশের প্রথম ডিজিটাল স্যাটেলাইট টেলিভিশন চ্যানেল আই-এর প্রতিষ্ঠান। এই নীতিমালায় আমরা জানাচ্ছি কীভাবে সংবাদ সংগ্রহ, যাচাই ও প্রকাশ করি, এবং ভুল হলে কীভাবে তা সংশোধন করি।
১. নির্ভুলতা ও যাচাই
- প্রকাশের আগে প্রতিটি তথ্য যথাসম্ভব যাচাই করা হয়। গুরুত্বপূর্ণ বা বিতর্কিত তথ্যের ক্ষেত্রে একাধিক নির্ভরযোগ্য সূত্র থেকে নিশ্চিত হওয়ার চেষ্টা করি।
- যা নিশ্চিত নয়, তা নিশ্চিত হিসেবে প্রকাশ করি না। চলমান ঘটনায় কোনটি নিশ্চিত আর কোনটি এখনো জানা যায়নি, তা স্পষ্ট করে লিখি।
- ছবি, ভিডিও ও সামাজিক যোগাযোগমাধ্যমের কনটেন্ট ব্যবহারের আগে তার উৎস ও সত্যতা যাচাই করি।
২. নিরপেক্ষতা ও ভারসাম্য
- কোনো ব্যক্তি বা প্রতিষ্ঠানের বিরুদ্ধে অভিযোগ প্রকাশের আগে তাঁদের বক্তব্য নেওয়ার চেষ্টা করি এবং তা প্রতিবেদনে রাখি। বক্তব্য পাওয়া না গেলে সেটিও উল্লেখ করি।
- সংবাদ ও মতামত আলাদা রাখা হয়। কলাম, সম্পাদকীয় ও মতামত লেখা সেভাবে চিহ্নিত থাকে; লেখকের মত প্রতিষ্ঠানের মত নাও হতে পারে।
- রাজনৈতিক, ধর্মীয় বা বাণিজ্যিক কোনো চাপের কাছে আমাদের সম্পাদকীয় সিদ্ধান্ত নত হয় না।
৩. সূত্র
- তথ্যের সূত্র যতটা সম্ভব স্পষ্টভাবে জানাই। অন্য সংবাদমাধ্যম বা সংস্থার তথ্য ব্যবহার করলে তাদের নাম উল্লেখ করি।
- বেনামি সূত্র ব্যবহার করা হয় কেবল তখনই, যখন তথ্যটি জনস্বার্থে জরুরি এবং অন্যভাবে পাওয়া সম্ভব নয়। এমন ক্ষেত্রে সূত্রের পরিচয় সম্পাদকীয় দায়িত্বপ্রাপ্তদের কাছে জানা থাকে এবং তার সুরক্ষা আমরা নিশ্চিত করি।
৪. সংশোধন ও প্রত্যাহার
- ভুল হলে আমরা দ্রুত তা সংশোধন করি। তথ্যগত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ সংশোধনের ক্ষেত্রে প্রতিবেদনে সংশোধনের কথা উল্লেখ করা হয়।
- কোনো প্রতিবেদনে ভুল পেলে জানান news@channeli.tv অথবা info@channelionline.com ঠিকানায়। প্রতিটি অভিযোগ আমরা পর্যালোচনা করি।
- কোনো প্রতিবেদনের জবাব বা প্রতিবাদ পাঠালে তা বিবেচনা করে প্রয়োজনে প্রকাশ করা হয়।
৫. গোপনীয়তা, ভুক্তভোগী ও শিশু
- জনস্বার্থ ছাড়া কারও ব্যক্তিগত জীবনে অনুপ্রবেশ করি না।
- যৌন নিপীড়নের শিকার ব্যক্তি এবং অপরাধের সঙ্গে জড়িত বা ভুক্তভোগী শিশুর নাম, ছবি বা পরিচয় প্রকাশ করা হয় না।
- দুর্ঘটনা, সহিংসতা ও মৃত্যুর সংবাদে সংবেদনশীল ছবি ও বর্ণনা যতটা সম্ভব পরিহার করি এবং শোকাহত পরিবারের মর্যাদার প্রতি সম্মান রাখি।
৬. বিজ্ঞাপন ও স্বার্থের দ্বন্দ্ব
- বিজ্ঞাপন ও সংবাদ আলাদা। বিজ্ঞাপন সংবাদের সিদ্ধান্তকে প্রভাবিত করে না, এবং বিজ্ঞাপন বা পৃষ্ঠপোষকতাপ্রাপ্ত কনটেন্ট সেভাবে চিহ্নিত থাকে।
- আমাদের সাংবাদিকেরা সংবাদ প্রকাশের বিনিময়ে কোনো উপহার বা সুবিধা গ্রহণ করেন না। কোনো প্রতিবেদনের বিষয়ের সঙ্গে ব্যক্তিগত স্বার্থ জড়িত থাকলে সংশ্লিষ্ট সাংবাদিক সেই প্রতিবেদন থেকে বিরত থাকেন।
- চ্যানেল আই পরিবার বা সহযোগী প্রতিষ্ঠান-সংক্রান্ত সংবাদও একই মানদণ্ডে বিচার করা হয়।
৭. প্রযুক্তি ও কৃত্রিম বুদ্ধিমত্তা
অনুবাদ, প্রতিলিপি বা অডিও সংস্করণের মতো কাজে প্রযুক্তির সহায়তা নেওয়া হতে পারে, তবে প্রকাশিত প্রতিটি সংবাদের দায় আমাদের সম্পাদকীয় বিভাগের। সম্পাদকীয় পর্যালোচনা ছাড়া কৃত্রিম বুদ্ধিমত্তায় তৈরি কোনো সংবাদ প্রকাশ করা হয় না।
৮. আইন ও কপিরাইট
আমরা বাংলাদেশের প্রচলিত আইন মেনে সংবাদ প্রকাশ করি। অন্যের লেখা, ছবি বা ভিডিও অনুমতি ও যথাযথ কৃতজ্ঞতা স্বীকার ছাড়া ব্যবহার করি না। আমাদের কনটেন্ট পুনঃপ্রকাশের নিয়ম ব্যবহারের শর্তাবলিতে আছে।

Channel i Online — the website www.channelionline.com and the Channel i mobile app — is published by Impress Telefilm Ltd, the company behind Channel i, Bangladesh's first digital satellite television channel. The Channel i app is distributed on Google Play and the Apple App Store by its affiliate Impress Telefilm Inc. (USA), and follows this same policy. This page explains how we gather, verify and publish the news, and how we correct mistakes.
1. Accuracy and verification
- We verify information before publishing it, and seek confirmation from more than one reliable source for important or disputed facts.
- We do not present what is unconfirmed as confirmed. In developing stories we say clearly what is known and what is not yet known.
- We check the origin and authenticity of photos, video and social-media content before using it.
2. Fairness and balance
- Before publishing an allegation against a person or organisation, we seek their response and include it; if they cannot be reached or decline, we say so.
- News and opinion are kept separate. Columns, editorials and opinion pieces are labelled as such, and a writer's views are not necessarily the Company's.
- Our editorial decisions are not made under political, religious or commercial pressure.
3. Sources
- We attribute information as clearly as possible, and credit other news organisations and agencies whose reporting we use.
- Anonymous sources are used only when the information is important to the public interest and cannot be obtained otherwise. The source's identity is known to the responsible editors, and we protect it.
4. Corrections
- We correct errors promptly. A significant factual correction is noted in the story.
- To report an error, write to news@channeli.tv or info@channelionline.com. We review every request.
- Responses and rejoinders to our reporting are considered and, where warranted, published.
5. Privacy, victims and children
- We do not intrude into private lives unless there is a clear public interest.
- We do not identify victims of sexual violence, or children who are victims of, witnesses to or accused of crimes.
- In reporting accidents, violence and death we avoid graphic images and detail wherever possible, and respect the dignity of the bereaved.
6. Advertising and conflicts of interest
- Advertising and journalism are separate. Advertisers do not influence editorial decisions, and advertising or sponsored content is labelled.
- Our journalists do not accept gifts or favours in return for coverage, and step back from stories in which they have a personal interest.
- Stories about Channel i and its affiliated companies are held to the same standards as any other.
7. Technology and artificial intelligence
We may use technology to help with tasks such as translation, transcription and audio versions of articles, but our editorial team is responsible for everything we publish. We do not publish news generated by artificial intelligence without editorial review.
8. Law and copyright
We publish in accordance with the laws of Bangladesh. We do not use others' writing, photos or video without permission and proper credit. The rules for republishing our content are in our Terms of Use.
