Shironamhin, one of the country’s most popular band, is known for its regular music releases. This Valentine’s Day, alongside a new song, the band has surprised fans at the Amar Ekushey Book Fair with something special.
Since its inception in 1996, Shironamhin has gifted listeners numerous timeless hits such as Hasimukh, Bondho Janala, Abar Hasimukh, and Ei Obelay. Now, in its 29th year, the band has introduced Shironamhin “Geetikobita Samagra”, a collection of their lyrics, at the book fair!
Published by Gatidhara Prakashani, Geetikobita Samagra compiles all of the band’s songs. Announcing the book’s release on their official Facebook page, Shironamhin wrote, “For the past 29 years, you have been listening to Shironamhin’s songs—sometimes through albums, sometimes digitally. Many have connected their emotions and memories to our lyrics. What if you could find all the lyrics of Shironamhin’s released and unreleased songs, including those from our eighth album, ‘Batighor’, in a single book? Now, you can.”
The post also mentioned that Shironamhin “Geetikobita Samagra” is available at the Gatidhara Prakashani stall (Pavilion 17) at the book fair.
Speaking to Channel i Online, bandleader and bassist Ziaur Rahman said, “Previously, a collection of around thirty songs written by me for Shironamhin was published. But this time, Shironamhin ‘Geetikobita Samagra’ is something different. This book includes lyrics not just by me, but by everyone who has ever written for the band. In short, this book is a complete archive of Shironamhin’s songs!”
Despite compiling all of the band’s songs in one cover, the book is available at an affordable price. Zia explained, “Most of our listeners are students. Keeping them in mind, we’ve kept the book’s price extremely affordable. After the fair’s stall discount, the book costs only 100 BDT! But don’t think a lower price means we’ve compromised on quality. We’ve maintained the standard, and for that, I’m grateful to Gatidhara Prokashoni.”
Meanwhile, on February 15, Shironamhin released a brand-new song for Valentine’s season, Priyotoma. The song, written by Ziaur Rahman, was composed and directed by Kazi Ahmed Shafin. The music video features models Sifat Amin Shuvo, Jannatul Ferdous Bismi, and child artist Man Bahadur, with filming taking place across various locations in India.
