In a landmark moment of their 29-year journey, one of Bangladesh’s most iconic bands, Shironamhin, is set to tour Canada for the very first time. While the band has performed in numerous countries around the world over the years, this will mark their debut live performance in Canada.
If all goes according to plan, Shironamhin will kick off their Canadian tour in Toronto this September 2025 organized by “Mixtape”.
Current Line-up of This Band: Ziaur Rahman – Bassist/ Band Leader, Kazy Ahmad Shafin – Drummer, Shaik Mohammad Istiaque – Vocal, Md Maidul Islam – Keyboard Player, Sudipto Sinha – Guitarist.
Band leader Ziaur Rahman shared that 2025 is shaping up to be a diverse and exciting year for the band, with several international tour offers and plans currently in motion.
Notably, continuing the musical journey from their Batighar album, Shironamhin recently released their new track “Priyotoma,” which has already surpassed 1.5 million views on YouTube within just a month of its release.
Band composer Kazi Ahmed Shafin reflected on their recent European tour, saying, “We were fascinated by the culture and natural beauty of the countries we visited last year. We hope to enjoy this year’s tours just as much.”
Vocalist Sheikh Ishtiaque added, “These tours offer us experiences and insights that are invaluable for creative artists like us.”
Sources reveal that the band has four more tracks ready, complete with music videos. These have been produced under the band’s own supervision in multiple locations across Thailand and India. One of the unreleased songs, “Kotodur,” is especially close to the heart—it explores the life and emotions of Bangladeshi expatriates and the broader theme of remittance.
Additionally, a sequel to their popular song “Ei Obelay” has been completed but is yet to be released. The band has expressed interest in launching these projects soon, pending sponsorship support.
